Little Tykes II
OUR MISSION
At Little Tykes II, our mission is to serve the community by offering a stimulating and nurturing learning environment for young children. Early childhood education is the foundation for future education. We continue to strive to provide the children in our community with the highest quality of education and childcare.
CURRICULUM
Our school offers a variety of early learning programs to promote school readiness. We also collaborate with several outside agencies to ensure that our children have the skills they need to become productive citizens and life learners.
CPS: Chicago Public Schools Early Childhood Partnership Contracting Program
This program serves birth through the age of five and is designed to provide developmentally appropriate experiences necessary for school success. At Little Tykes II, we support parents as the primary nurturers, educators and advocates for their children.
Head Start Program
This program is a federally funded to help families in the community. It provides educational activities, access to free medical and dental services, nutritious meals and snacks, and support for children with special needs. This program eligibility is based on income.
Programs Include:
- Outdoor playground activities and nature walks
- Breakfast (6am-9am), hot lunch, and afternoon snack
- Certified and trained teachers and staff (including criminal and background checks). Many also have CPR and First Aid Training
- Our teacher to student ratios are kept small to allow for individual attention
Our school is licensed by the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the Department of Children Family Services.
